El acceso es terrestre y marítimo, a 112 millas aproximadamente desde Punta Arenas por vía marítima a su desembocadura en el Seno Almirantazgo.

Un rio precioso,salen cantidad de reos desde medio kilo asta cualquier sorpresa de 5 o 7 kg.En algunos puntos como la boca o donde se junta un afluente que tiene salen Salvelinos de medio kilo o kilo,tambien tuve la oportunidad de sacar dos estellhes como de un kilo.siempre lo pesque a finales de febrero principio de marzo.
