Hunting

These hunts are hard, exciting and real. They are shaped by the elements, skill, determination and luck. They provide an excellent opportunity to complete a goal and achieve success to a high trophy standard. And although we do everything within our abilities to produce an exciting result these experiences are accompanied with the possibility of defeat as any true hunt should be. We provide top grade gear, rich local knowledge and life long hunting history to help you accomplish your goals. We have access to the best historical hunting grounds and hold concessions for vast areas of wilderness within which to conduct our adventures.

We specialize in New Zealand's two alpine game animals. The Chamois (rupicapra rupicapra) and the Himalayan Tahr (hermitragus jemlahicus).

Our hunts run from May 1 to June 30 and are usually over a ten-day period (two species hunt). For more information and booking availability feel free to contact us.

Time spent dwelling in native surroundings pursuing these river spirits is a glorious obsession that we would love to share with you. For over a decade Crikey Creek Guiding has developed a New Zealand fly-fishing experience aimed at immersing you in the wild magic of our country.

Our trips provide the wanderlust soul with the opportunity to unearth the door to real New Zealand and the people, places and creatures within. Our goal is to produce an experience that caters for the angler’s specific desires. From day-trip fishing to multi-day wilderness experiences staying in our beautiful Little Lake House to backcountry huts and tent fly camping. Each trip is tailored for the individual or small party and can vary in almost all aspects.

The areas we cover are prime brown trout fisheries with the occasional rainbow as an added bonus.

Personal correspondence is a big part of each trip creation, as many factors are involved in building a schedule that suits. Once interested in a trip and with the information provided by this website, a prospective guest can then contact us and trip planning can begin. Trip make-up can include any combination of drive-to and wilderness options.
