Blackwater Lodge is an informal, comfortable lodge-style guesthouse in a magnificent location overlooking the world-famous Munster Blackwater, one of Europe’s most spectacular salmon rivers. It’s a no-nonsense, friendly place, where the comfort and enjoyment of salmon anglers is the top priority - truly a specialist sporting lodge. For years, the Blackwater Lodge has been the hideaway of salmon anglers from all over Europe and North America. They return again and again because of our relaxed atmosphere and beautiful location. Historically the Lodge was formerly the railway station for the village of Ballyduff. It was built in 1882 & the line eventually closed in 1967. Construction of the Lodge as we know it now began in 1971 around the old station buildings. For the non-Fisher: Information on the surrounding area & non-fishing activities.
